Fender Primary School

During the half-term break when children are off school, we upgraded and installed brand new LED lighting fittings in Fender Primary School to help them reduce their energy spend and improve the amount of fluorescent, bright white light throughout key productivity areas and hallways around the school. Due to the size of the school and existing lighting fittings, the project required lots of testing and replacing to ensure safe, efficient lighting.

This project was completed within the 3-day deadline and was completed by the end of the working week, and was ready by Monday morning. Follow rigours inspections and testing, lights were in working order and all waste was recycled and disposed of, ready for happy classroom learning for the start of a new term on Monday morning.  

Client Brief

The client requested we visit the school to survey their existing lighting fittings for new LED, fluorescent tube replacements. Whilst inspecting the existing fittings, we identified opportunities to increase their lighting efficiency throughout the property through remote sensors for motion-sensitive lighting. Combining green, energy-efficient lighting with automatic light savings means that the school can save up to 80% of their light savings each year.

In addition to the LED lighting installations around the interior of the property, we installed motion-sensitive outdoor lighting to not only provide increased safety during darker hours but act as security lighting, without the requirement for manually turning them off before home time.

Our Solutions

During the initial survey, we identified it was important to test and inspect the existing wiring to ensure it was safe to use and providing efficient, reliable energy for the building. Following our wiring inspections, we confirmed the safety and compliance of the wiring and began the installation of the new LED lighting fittings. 

We safely replaced the existing lighting and installed brand new, energy efficient LED fluorescent tubes along with motion sensors and controls around the room to provide a hassle-free lighting solution for teachers and students.

After the installation was completed, we completed thorough testing and inspections to ensure that all fixtures were safe to use, no loose wiring was left and all unwanted fixtures were removed and disposed of. We completed the project by testing all affected circuits to ensure that they were up to our safety standards and fully operational. 

The client was delighted with our work at Fender Primary School and the team’s hard work to complete the job before the start of the new school term.
